Sergey Beltiukov (born.1956) is a successful Belarusian composer of predominantly orchestral, choral and piano works that have been performed throughout Europe.

Mr. Beltiukov studied at the Belarusian State Conservatory in Minsk, where he graduated from the piano class of Grigory Sharshevsky in 1980 and the composition class of Evgeny Glebov in 1987. The compositions written during his study at the Conservatory have shown the intellectual orientation of figurativeness and professionalism of their authorship. Among Mr. Beltiukov’s honours are two Second prizes in the Soviet Union Students and Post-Graduate Students Composition Competition (1985, for Toccata No. 1; 1987, for The Night Butterfly) and a USSR Silver Medal (1988, for The Night Butterfly). Since 1989, after graduating from the Post-graduate study with Mr. Glebov, Mr. Beltiukov continues to actively work in almost all music genres.

n 1990 he co-founded the Belarusian Society of Contemporary Music together with composers Galina Gorelova, Vyacheslav Kuznetsov and Dmitry Lybin. In 1990 his composition “Music for Oboe and tape” was selected by international jury (among two other works of composers from USSR A. Schnittke and G. Kantchelli) and performed during the ISCM World Days of Music in Oslo (the first Belarusian composer featured).

A new period began in 1991 with the creation of the first symphony “Engraving”.

Mr. Beltiukov’s music has been performed at numerous important festivals, including the Kulturtage der Stadt Bonn (Germany, 1994, compositions “Strontium 90”), the Bath International Music Festival (England, 1996, the premiere of “Credo” for flute, cymbal and chamber orchestra, dedicated to Chernobyl tragedy), the Druskininkai Festival (Lithuania, 1999, composition “Concerto Grosso”) and the Warsaw Autumn Festival (Poland, 2000). His music represented Belarus at the UNESCO International Rostrum of Composers in Amsterdam (The Netherlands, 2000). Sergey Beltiukov writes music for films, TV and Radio programs and theatre production.

In 2007, the jubilee of Mr. Beltiukov’s activities as composer, a concert of his works took place in the Great Hall of the Philharmonic Society in Minsk. His compositions Cantata “Pastorale”, 1st Symphony “Engraving”, Requiem “Nenia” and Concerto for Violin and orchestra where performed by Academic Choir, Symphony Orchestra of the National State Broadcasting Company and soloists. “Sergey Beltiukov’s music showed once more the deep connection with the Belarusian traditions and culture” (Minsk Courant Review). For the audience of the International Minsk Spring Festival, the name of the composer has already become a symbol: each year premieres of his new compositions are performed during the festival. In 2010 Mr. Beltiukov did present a new work at the "New Paths in Music" festival in New-York city.
